The picture does not do justice to this item. The necklace is very pretty. The peridot is vibrant and a nice contrast to the aquamarine. My wife wore this, and I was stunned.

This necklace is very pretty, and I feel that the photo is representative of the necklace I received. I am partial to both aquamarines and peridots - I have aquamarines in my engagement ring, and peridot is my birthstone. I liked the fact that it is essentially a bead necklace so the necklace chain doesn't touch one's neck. Since I have sensitive skin and metal allergies, I have to be very selective about jewelry. I am a petite, average build woman, and I think a 17" necklace would be about right for me. I anticipated that I would be able to wear this a lot. When I tried it on, however, the necklace seemed disproportionally small - it looked child-sized to me, and I didn't feel comfortable with it on. I just knew I would never wear it. I decided to confirm my hunch and measure it.
The necklace I received measures a bare 16" including the clasps on each end, so 16" is the circumference of the necklace chain. I am not including the length of the pendant drop. As a result, I am returning it. I am giving a low rating based on the inaccurately described length of the necklace, but I would happily buy it again if it were an appropriate length for me. My advice is to measure another necklace that fits your recipient and judge whether a 16" necklace will fit. Be aware that you are ordering a 16" necklace, and you will be happy with it.
